EDC 1000 Differential Counter Designed to take the guess-work out of count control, the Model EDC-1000 Differential Counter maintains accurate counts of facility, monthly, or transient parking spaces automatically. Vehicle count accuracy is one of the most critical functions of a parking operation, and the Model EDC-1000 performs this function automatically. Programmed to display the maximum number of vehicles to be allowed into the facility when the full condition is reached, the EDC-1000 subtracts for vehicle entry and adds for vehicle exit. For instance, if a parking lot has the capacity to hold 1,000 spaces, the Differential Counter would be programmed for this amount. After ten vehicles have entered the facility, the counter would display 990, indicating that number of spaces are still available. If two vehicles leave the lot, the counter would then read 992, and so on. When all the spaces are filled, the counter displays "0", illuminates the Full Sign and deactivates the Ticket Spitter. When a specific level is filled in a multi-level garage, that level's Differential Counter would activate either the Full Sign or a directional sign guiding parkers to the nearest available space.
